Why see a pediatric dentist?

We specialize in kiddos! Think of our doctors as pediatricians in dentistry. Our doctors had years of additional training after dental school to specialize in kid's dentistry, and chose to serve the communities of Issaquah, Maple Valley and Kent.

With this extra training, you can expect:

The Importance of Building
Relationships Early

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children visit the dentist for the first time around their first birthday, or when their first tooth erupts (whichever comes first). If you bring your child to Cascadia Kids Dentistry starting at this young age, they will be more comfortable with our doctors, our team, the practice, and the process of a dental appointment. We can begin developing a good relationship early on in their life. This also means we’ll be able to better track their oral development and keep an eye out for any oral issues before they develop into larger problems.

We love kids!

Here’s how we ensure every child feels comfortable and safe at the dentist!

1

Communication is imperative. Dr. Nick, Dr. Kathie, Dr. Hayley and Dr. Peter will get to know you and your family with one-on-one communication.

2

Did your child have a bad experience in the past? We drop down to their level and discuss those past experiences with them to gain trust.

3

We won’t lean that chair back right away. Instead, we let your child feel empowered to love the dentist and give them control in their dental care.

4

Every appointment is tailored to your child. From finding the perfect Netflix movie and using the same team every time, your child will love the dentist.

5

If these options aren’t enough to ease your child’s fears or anxiety, we offer in-office sedation and general anesthesia.

What Makes Our Team Different

Our team works hard to create positive dental experiences for kiddos. And the best way to do that is to be energetic, upbeat, and to speak fluent kid. We know how to communicate with children of all ages in ways that make them feel respected. When they understand what’s going on with their oral health, they’re more likely to take care of their smiles. By instilling a little responsibility, we open up the door for more adventure!
